He was born in Bretoña (Lugo) on November 21, 1964.

He obtained the degree of Telecommunications Engineer in 1988 (Outstanding) and the title of Doctor of Telecommunications Engineering in 1992 ("Apto cum laude" unanimously), both by the E.T.S. of Telecommunications Engineers of the Polytechnic University of Madrid (Dept. of Signals, Systems and Radiocommunications, SSR).

Since 1986 he has been active in the E.T.S. of Telecommunications Engineers of the Polytechnic University of Madrid (Dept. of Signals, Systems and Radiocommunications), occupying different positions: intern of final year project (1986-1989), FPI fellow (1989-1992), Professor of University Interim (1992-1996). Since 1996, he has been Professor at the University of the Signal and Communications Theory Area.

In relation to his teaching activity he teaches the following subjects:

• Electricity and magnetism. Second year, 1C
• Communications Electronics. Fourth year, 1C
• Radiation, propagation and dispersion of electromagnetic waves. Doctorate, 2C
• Electromagnetic compatibility. Doctorate, 2C.

He is the author, together with 3 other professors of the SSR Dept., of the book: "Electronics of Communications". Pearson Education S.A. Madrid. ISBN: 84-205-3674-1

Research activity is developed in the following areas:

• Design of antennas for satellite communications (both on board and on the ground).
• Design of feeders for different applications (Radio astronomy, telemetry, communications, etc).
• Design of passive RF devices (polarizers, couplers, transitions, Orthodos, etc.).
• Antenna measurement systems.

He has participated in numerous National and International Research Projects. The results of these Research Projects are gathered in numerous communications presented in national and international congresses, as well as in articles in journals.
